President of the EMS

Since 2003 Valdur Koha serves full-time (self-supporting) in the ministry.   Valdur serves as an Elder in the Boston Church of Christ and leads the church-wide Teaching Ministry.   Valdur is the president of the European Missions Society, an organization with the purpose of evangelizing New England and Europe. He is also the Executive Director of the Beam Missions Foundation which funds missions programs worldwide. Valdur is working toward a Masters degree in Divinity (MDIV) at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Valdur is a member of the ICOC Teacher’s Service Team.

Treasurer and Secretary for the EMS

Jim is responsible for all of the financial affairs of the EMS.  Jim chairs the Finance Committee, prepares the annual budget, supervises the accounting staff, works with the auditors to ensure compliance, and provides regular reports to management and the board.  Jim has served as Treasurer of the EMS since 2008.

Jim and his wife, Donna have been married for 34 years and have two sons and one grandson.  Their younger son is autistic, and they volunteer with several organizations that provide supports to individuals with disabilities.  Jim also works full-time as the Controller for Net Lease Capital Advisors in Nashua, NH.

Carla Lallensack
Administrative Support

Carla recently joined the EMS administrative team in a part-time support role. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Southern California.  She attended UCLA and earned her bachelor degree in Political Science; then later enjoyed a career in sales prior to becoming a full-time parent.

Carla became a disciple 21 years ago in Los Angeles and has been married to her husband Brian for 19 years.  They moved to Boston with their family in 2002, where they worship and serve in the Metro Region of the Boston Church of Christ.  Together, they have served as Bible Talk Leaders, Children’s Ministry Coordinators and currently serve as shepherds for their Teen Ministry.  They have 3 children: Everett, Alexandra and Brooke.

Christen McDuffee
Human Resources Director

Born in Michigan, raised in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and currently living in Boston, Christen McDuffee has been part of the EMS administrative team since 2016. Prior to her current role as Director of Human Resources, she spent a year with the Berliner Gemeinde Christi, supporting an effort to strengthen and unify the European campus ministries. From 2009-2015, after graduating from Harvard University and before moving to Germany, she worked in full-time ministry in both Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Jonathon Norton
Intern

“Jon has helped the EMS administrative team on a part-time basis since early 2016. His primary role includes assisting with the ongoing financial responsibilities of the EMS. Jon graduated from the University of Florida with a Master’s Degree in Accounting and is licensed as a CPA in Massachusetts. He works full-time at Net Lease Capital Advisors as the company’s Assistant Controller.

Jon has been a disciple of Christ since 2006. He and his wife Nikki were married in Gainesville in 2013 and moved to Boston shortly after where they currently are active in the young marrieds ministry.”

Tobias Koha
Intern

Toby joined the EMS administrative team in a part-time role in 2016. His responsibilities include assisting in legal, human resources, corporate governance and secretarial matters. Toby obtained his B.A. in Political Science from Boston College and went on to get his law degree there as well, becoming a member of the Massachusetts Bar in 2012. He works as a member of the legal team at a commercial real estate company.

Toby has been married to his high school sweetheart Bridget since 2007. They have two young daughters and volunteer as the children’s ministry coordinators in the Central Region of the Boston Church of Christ.
